5. **Reading**: Once the reading is stable, note the pH value displayed on the meter.
6. **Rinsing and Drying**: After taking the reading, remove the probe from the solution, rinse it with distilled water, and gently blot it dry.
7. **Storage**: Store the pH probe according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually with the electrode stored in a pH 4.00 or 7.00 buffer solution or in a storage solution provided by the manufacturer.
8. **Maintenance**: Regularly check and maintain the pH meter and probe to ensure their longevity and accuracy. This may include cleaning the electrode, checking the reference electrode's fill solution, and replacing any worn parts.
